Thankful for You!

Thanksgiving at Columbia Pike Animal Hospital and Emergency Center

s

As Thanksgiving approaches, all of us at Columbia Pike Animal Hospital and Emergency Center want to thank our amazing clients for trusting us with your pets. We are also deeply grateful for our dedicated team, who work tirelessly every day and night to care for the pets of our community. Being a family owned, non corporate hospital for 50 years means a great deal to us, and we appreciate the support you show our sister hospitals: Columbia Pike, Town and Country Animal Hospital in Fairfax, and Animal Clinic of Clifton.

We Are Open 24/7/365 With No Additional Emergency Fee

Many emergency hospitals in Northern Virginia charge an additional emergency fee on top of the standard exam fee, which often increases the cost by 150 to 300 dollars just to be seen. At Columbia Pike Animal Hospital and Emergency Center, we do not charge an additional emergency fee. You pay only the standard exam fee, even on holidays, late nights, or early mornings.

This helps families get the emergency care they need without the extra financial burden that many ERs add on top of treatment.

If your family veterinarian, including Town and Country Animal Hospital or Animal Clinic of Clifton, is closed for Thanksgiving, our team is here for you at any hour.

Traveling With Pets This Thanksgiving

s

If your pet is joining your holiday trip, here are simple safety reminders:

  • Use a secure carrier, travel crate, or seat belt harness

  • Bring medications, water, and familiar comfort items

  • Feed light meals to reduce motion sickness

  • Keep ID tags and microchips up to date

  • Pack medical records, especially for senior pets

How Our Hospitals Give Back

Giving back to the community is at the heart of our mission across all three sister hospitals. Through the leadership of Dr. Reed Hall and the Hall family, we support volunteer veterinary work, rescue organizations, and programs that provide care for pets in need.

Dr. Delia Large Hart shares how volunteering shaped her passion for veterinary medicine and how service brings meaning and joy to her work. Our doctors receive dedicated volunteer days with full support, including travel and supplies for international service programs.

Ways We Give Back

  • Supporting veterinarians on medical volunteer trips abroad

  • Partnering with Wolf Trap Animal Rescue for high volume surgical training and shelter medicine

  • Providing low cost spay and neuter services for rescue organizations

  • Assisting local shelters with medical care and resources

  • Participating in community outreach that strengthens the human animal bond

Service helps us support pets, families, and communities both locally and around the world.
