At Columbia Pike Animal Hospital, we are proud to be part of a family of sister hospitals that share one goal, to provide exceptional care for pets and the people who love them. That mission connects our three locations, Columbia Pike Animal Hospital & Emergency Center in Annandale, Town & Country Animal Hospital in Fairfax, and the Animal Clinic of Clifton, through one dedicated team and one shared vision.
This week’s DVM Spotlight features Dr. Kimberly Rios, a compassionate and curious veterinarian who represents exactly what our family of hospitals is all about.
Dr. Rios is originally from Florida, where she attended the University of Central Florida before earning her veterinary degree from the University of Arizona as part of its very first graduating class. After completing a hybrid emergency and general practice internship at Columbia Pike, she joined Town & Country Animal Hospital in Fairfax, where she continues to care for pets and collaborate closely with our sister hospitals.
Her experience working between hospitals highlights one of the greatest advantages of our connected network. Columbia Pike, Town & Country, and the Animal Clinic of Clifton share the same leadership, medical standards, and electronic records. That means your pet’s care team can collaborate effortlessly, ensuring the same high standard of care whether your visit is for a routine checkup, a dental cleaning, or an emergency exam.
Dr. Rios loves the challenge of solving medical puzzles. Since pets cannot tell us how they feel, she enjoys working with clients to uncover what is really going on. Her special interests include dentistry, dermatology, and preventive medicine, helping pets stay healthy through regular exams, vaccines, and early diagnostic testing.
As a Fear Free Certified veterinarian, Dr. Rios also makes it a priority to keep pets calm and comfortable during every visit. By using gentle handling and stress-reducing techniques, she helps create a positive experience that builds trust with both pets and their families.
When she is not at the hospital, Dr. Rios enjoys playing with her cat, Tinky, attending musicals and concerts, and spending weekends exploring breweries and wineries around Virginia.
Dr. Rios is an important part of what makes our sister hospitals so special. Through shared expertise, compassion, and teamwork, she helps ensure every family receives consistent, personalized care, no matter which of our hospitals they visit.
Love People. Love Pets. Meet the team that makes it real.
