Dr. Roman found her love for veterinary medicine while fostering dogs at a young age. Working with veterinarians through the challenges of rescue medicine inspired her to pursue a career that would also hopefully make a difference. She earned an Animal and Poultry Sciences degree from Virginia Tech and attended Virginia-Maryland College of Veterinary Medicine. Besides small animal medicine, Dr. Roman also has a passion for wildlife conservation and has been fortunate enough to gain experience in this field as well. That is one of the main reasons Dr. Roman enjoys veterinary medicine. There are so many avenues to explore and so many ways to make a positive impact on an animal's life.
After growing up in Fredericksburg and spending eight years in Blacksburg, she is excited to explore more of a city life in the NOVA area. She has a dog named Simba, who is a "foster fail" she's had the joy of knowing since he was four hours old. He is the goofiest boy who is always up for a walk or snuggles on the couch after a long day. In her spare time, Dr. Roman enjoys being outside, baking, and reading.
