Dr. Verma grew up in a small town near Niagara Falls, Canada.
Her interest in veterinary medicine wasn’t sparked by a single moment—it grew quietly during her childhood, as she spent afternoons after school in her father’s veterinary clinic, watching him care for animals and their families.
It wasn’t until her junior year of undergraduate studies at McMaster University that she began to see it as her own path. She went on to graduate with honours, earning a degree in Biology while gaining hands-on experience, leading the Pre-Veterinary Club, and volunteering internationally in public health.
Dr. Verma earned her Doctorate in Veterinary Medicine from St. George’s University in Grenada and completed her clinical rotations at the University of Minnesota. During vet school, she was an active member of the Veterinary Surgery Club and took part in One Health initiatives on-island—collaborative efforts that highlight the connection between animal, human, and environmental health.
What Dr. Verma enjoys most about veterinary medicine is its variety—whether it’s preventive care, nutrition, dentistry, or surgery, she finds joy in helping pets feel better and helping their humans understand how to care for them along the way.
With a deep appreciation for travel, culture, and continuous learning, Dr. Verma enjoys exploring new places, trying different foods, and learning new languages. She shares her home with Goose, a small island cat she adopted in Grenada, who has been her loyal companion ever since.
